Offering a uniquely better
approach to Teacher Training.
approach to Teacher Training.
The Alphacrucis School of Education partners with Teaching School Hubs, individual Teaching Schools, and networks to provide a supported pathway for Initial Teacher Education (ITE) students. Our programs are designed to position Christian teachers to confidently teach from a Christian worldview using biblically informed pedagogy.

Head of School, St Andrew’s Cathedral School
Teaching school hubs gives us a sense of quality control; we can home-grow our teachers.
“There is a looming teacher shortage and more than 1500 teachers will be needed over the next 10 years within the 39 Anglican schools in Sydney.”
What makes AC different?
For Students
Our courses are designed to fit into your busy schedule, offering live online study options that even cater to individuals already working in the education space. We recognise your prior school experience through advanced standing and Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL). We also assist in securing placements and supporting your in-school work, ensuring you have the help you need to succeed.
For Schools
Our dedicated Teaching School staff work closely with you to ensure the success of your students, offering information and support to help your interns integrate theory with practice. We also provide training and assistance for your school-based mentors and instructional coaches. Additionally, your Teaching Schools Regional Director offers extra support and contributes to insight sessions as part of our formal partnership.

Testimonials
Hear from some of our Hub Directors, alumni, and current students
“Being in the classroom from the very beginning with a mentor allows a trainee to take smaller but more frequent steps. This reduces the jump from learner to practitioner.”
“The craft of teaching was long ago described as a “discipleship model.” The Hub model for ITE training emphasises that we teach through relationship, therefore we are training teachers through relationship.”
“If I am teaching a topic in my classroom, it should be different to the same topic being taught in the state school down the road, because we have a mission as Christian teachers to share the goodness of Jesus Christ.”
“The Hub model is about including schools in the shaping and training of teachers, which is paramount for partnership and localised ethos-based teacher training.”

Partner with AC
Our Partnership Approach
The Alphacrucis School of Education partners with individual schools, school networks and teaching school hubs based on their needs and cohort size. We have dedicated staff that support our partner schools and their students. Our commitment is to develop confident classroom-ready professionals in partnership with schools. This includes supporting and developing school-based mentors and providing opportunities for appropriately qualified teachers to tutor in our curriculum subjects.

Ways to Partner with AC
Individual Teaching School
These are schools that provide an internship pathway for new teachers. They usually employ AC students as Teaching Assistants or in similar roles with a longer-term view of employing them as teachers once they are accredited to teach. Each school provides different levels of support to their AC students based on the schools resources
Teaching School Networks
These are clusters of teaching schools that share a similar vision of mentoring, supporting and employing initial teacher education students. These are networks or partnerships where a group of schools share resources and best practice to support their initial teacher education students. They may also share professional experience opportunities for students and pool their teacher talent pool to ensure a teacher pipeline to meet employment opportunities across different teaching areas.
Teaching School Hubs
These are formal partnerships where schools establish a formal Teaching School hub. This is actioned through a Memorandum of Understanding or a formal constitution and includes the appointment of a Teaching School Director or Principal. The Teaching School Hub hosts additional workshops and sessions for their students, provides additional oversight and support for them as they progress through their studies, and works closely with the host school principals and mentors. The Teaching School may also choose to partner with one or several higher education providers to further strengthen areas such as theory and practice integration and the third space.
This approach models best practice in terms of supporting all of the active ingredients identified in the research of embedded teacher training. It supports a high retention rate for both students completing their studies and, although we only have recent graduating cohorts, of teachers remaining in the teaching profession.
